Food and alcohol all at great prices - certainly not overpriced. Service at the bar was bad, really bad, with around 5 members of staff just standing around chatting and laughing and one person serving drinks. However, we felt disappointed when we visited for a line dance lesson. I really thought that we would have some sort of a room away from the bar but instead we were all lined up and squashed in along the bar front floor and people were having drinks at the bar. Staff were dancing on the bar showing us the moves and nobody could really dance properly because we were all banging into each other. Some of us couldn’t actually see the person on the top of the bar giving the instructions due to the amount of people that were in front of you or pillars that were blocking the view. The sound system needs addressing too, we could hardly hear her. People at the nearby tables which were inches away from where we were dancing were also receiving the odd kick from the dancers. It was chaotic and it was a bit of a mess if I’m being really honest and we were certainly disappointed as it wasn’t what we thought we would get given this was a lesson but instead we were all bunched up in front of a busy bar. There was about at least 30 people in front of the bar trying to dance. Instead of being organised, it all felt “last minute” . We did have a laugh but on a very serious note I don’t think this is the way that you should be teaching us.. I think that you need to reconsider the area where you are teaching us and take us away from an already busy bar area. Not to be boring or irritating, have you really considered health and safety regulations before you set this bar up for a line dancing lesson? Maybe teething issues ofcourse but I do hope that my comment reaches the establishment for at least some recognition because this could be an absolutely great and different night out for us here in Edinburgh not to mention the uniqueness aspect.
